If you have Type 2 diabetes, it can no doubt be extremely Type 2 Diabetes Defeated frustrating when your blood sugar levels seem to skyrocket for no good reason. Obviously, like several of the problems associated with diabetes, there is no known way to get rid of this potentially dangerous irritation. In time, having your sugar levels be too high can cause all manner of damage inside your system. So it's definitely in your best interests to keep your blood sugar levels at a nice, normal place somewhere in the middle. So the inevitable question you could be completely justified in asking as your frustration hits a climax is, "why can't I just drench my veins in insulin, and put this problem down like Old Yeller?"

Carefully Moderated Insulin Like a lot of things in life, there are a couple of reasons why that would be dumb and potentially dangerous. First off, your insulin needs to be as carefully moderated as your blood sugar is. At both extremes, it is completely possible to have too much of a good thing in your life. It would do you no good to go from being hyperglycemic to being hypoglycemic... you would just end up swapping out one potentially injurious problem for an equally bad one. It would be a little bit like conquering your dependence on morphine by turning to heroin... not much of an improvement, if it's even an improvement at all!
