    Wellness is the goal of most individuals. This is the reason JRHONEST why we eat right, exercise and make an effort to get enough rest and sleep. Dr. Halbert Dunn defines wellness as "an integrated method of functioning which is oriented toward maximizing the potential of which the individual is capable. It requires that the individual maintain a continuum of balance and purposeful direction within the environment where he is functioning." So stated simply, in order to achieve wellness a person needs balance and focus. Balance, because you can't achieve wellness without equilibrium in your life.

    And I don't just mean in the physical sense. You have to be well rounded in all areas of your life: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Balance is not easy to maintain because people often tend to concentrate on one area too much. Like for instance, yuppies concentrate most of their time and energy on their careers. I'm not saying that this is wrong. But you've also got to make time for your family and friends. How does this relate to health? If you work too hard, you'll end up stressed and could get burned out. Focus and purposeful direction is also vital because a deep sense of purpose will give you the will to continue on. No matter how many problems or trials come along, if you know what you want, you'll find a way to get there. A life without purpose can be very tiring and frustrating.
